Costa Rica is an amazing country. While just 51,100 square kilometers (19,730 sq miles), the size of West Virginia or Denmark, about 5% of the world's species can be found here. That includes over 850 species of birds, 250 species of mammal, and 220 species of reptiles.

We first visited in Costa Rica in 2012 and returned every year to this wonderful place until we finally built a house in Bijagua so that we could spend as much time here as possible.
Over the years, we've made many dear friends here and have traveled extensively throughout the country. We wanted to share that expertise with those thinking about visiting and created Wild Costa Rica.
