The Southern Pacific Region

Costa Rica's Southern Pacific region stands out as an incredible area of biodiversity and natural wonders, uniquely shaped by its tropical climate, lush rainforests, and pristine beaches. This area is renowned for its ecological diversity, characterized by humid, warm weather throughout the year, punctuated by a distinct rainy season from May to November. This hot, tropical climate supports a wide range of species of mammals, birds, and reptiles.

The Southern Pacific region is a paradise for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts, boasting some of Costa Rica's richest habitats. The iconic Corcovado National Park, located on the remote Osa Peninsula, is frequently celebrated as one of the most biologically intense places on Earth, home to more than 400 bird species.
