Central American Spider Monkeys

The Spider Monkey is an amazing mammal, one of four monkeys found in Costa Rica. While not as common as Howler Monkeys or White-faced Capuchins, the Spider Monkey prefers primary forest habitat.

These monkeys are so fun to observe, as they're one of the most acrobatic of the monkeys. They have extremely long limbs and they love to hang from their long tails as the forage.

They move through the forest in long, swooping arcs, swinging from their limbs and tails gracefully through the canopy.
